  • Lunch Volunteers – The Archway Lunch Program is run entirely by parents. Volunteering for lunch is a great way to support Archway and see your student(s) interacting with their classmates during the lunch period (click here to sign up).

Archway Classical Academy Scottsdale Parent Service Organization (PSO)
Top Ten PSO Pointers

Welcome to the 2016-2017 Archway Scottsdale school year! Your PSO works with our amazing faculty, staff, and parents to create a welcoming, inspiring, fun community for our children. These 10 pointers give a quick overview of your PSO. Watch for more details during the year!

Social Events: Look forward to terrific monthly after-school outings for students! These include the Ice Cream Social, Fall Festival, Bingo Night, AZ Airtime, and Snow Day. Each event provides a great opportunity to build new friendships…for your child and for you!

Communications: Watch for PSO news in our biweekly Archer’s Scroll e-mail newsletters. The Scroll provides dates, events, links, and Archway tips. You will also receive PSO event e-mails, get printed fliers and calendars in your child’s green Go-Folder, and see posters at drop-off.

Volunteering: There are lots of opportunities to help our kids! Teachers and room parents need volunteers in the classroom. PSO needs help with all-school activities. SignUp Genius (a free email tool) is used most frequently to organize volunteers.

Hot Lunch Program: Your PSO serves hot lunch to hundreds of students every week and easy to order online.  More than a dozen area restaurants deliver healthy, affordable choices that your kids will love.

Snowstorm: Instead of giving coffee mugs to faculty and staff, our families give a holiday cash gift to the Snowstorm fund. Students write thank-you notes to teachers on snowflakes. These decorate the school, and then are given as special keepsakes.

Teacher Appreciation: Our faculty and staff are truly the best! In addition to organizing Snowstorm, your PSO buys teacher supplies, provides lunches for every faculty in-service meeting, organizes a great teacher appreciation week in the spring, and more!

Passive Fundraising: Archway Scottsdale does not require you to sell popcorn or magazines. Instead, our passive fundraising initiatives help earn funds more through optional monthly restaurant dining events, t-shirt sales, Box Tops collection, used uniform sales, and more. Please support these efforts as they fund our great school activities.

Room Parents: Two room parents volunteer for every classroom to help teachers coordinate class parties and other initiatives. Room parents will ask you for a one-time donation soon to support only your child’s class activities. These funds are not used for PSO all-school activities.

Purchases for Our School: What do we do with the funds we raise?  We buy items that are needed for school like the new flag pole, sun shades, safety cameras, water bottle filling stations, and more. We purchase teacher supplies, we pay for our many PSO programs, and we give the rest back to the school.

How You Can Get Involved: Stay informed by reading the Archer’s Scroll emails. Attend school social events when you can. And most importantly, plan to volunteer for something—bring a bag of ice, open car doors at drop-off, or whatever works with your schedule.

When everyone volunteers, the year will be great for our kids and you will feel connected to our great school community!  Watch for volunteer SignUp Genius emails, or contact vol.coordinator.aspso@gmail.com. We look forward to a wonderful year with you!
